Welcome to Dawn Reed Pottery. I am a hobby pottery, who is slowly but surely able to make some lovely pots, vases, spoon rests and more! I’m experimenting with lots of different styles, colours and clays.
I have invested in a Scutt RK-55 wheel and now have two kilns – a Cromartie KM822 (it’s brilliant!) and an older KLN40B (the predecessor to the Cromartie Hobbytech 40). I’ve taken over a room of our house and have filled it with lots of tools, clay and glazes.

About me
I’ve always been quite creative and arty. My GCSE art project was a tribal-style artwork, which got me top marks! Even back then I knew I loved working with clay – but as it often does, life moved forwards. In honesty I never thought that actually working with clay had been a real option – so off I went into marketing and then raising a family.
Pottery got put aside and was replaced with nappies, then school bags – but the interest never disappeared – I was constantly hunting for pottery classes nearby. Then…our local college had pottery classes on! I jumped at the chance and got stuck in.
The passion soon re-ignited – and I was hooked! The more time I spent in classes, the more I realised that pottery was something I genuinely loved. So…I took the leap, invested in my own kiln, then wheel – meaning I can create whenever I want. So now I do, meaning I have a new creative outlet through an interest that’s spanned over 30 years.
